Atlanta art gallery, R. Alexander’s group exhibition Keep Calm and Think of the Beach is a celebration of summertime, filled with treasured moments at the coast and at the sea. Featured works include paintings by Fernando Alcaraz, Iban Navarro, Pietro Piccoli, Giner Bueno, Brad Robertson, and Eustaquio Segrelles.
The objective of this exhibition is to transport you to a paradise that will allow you to relax. It is a place of pleasure, of leisure, of contemplation, and of nature — it is the beach. The beach scenes as part of this exhibition emit the tranquility and luminosity of the coast. They give you insight to the people and places by the water, and how the interaction between land and sea affects daily life. For example, Fernando Alcaraz’s coastal scenes depict the small villages that grow alongside the sea, that suggest a kind of human presence but that never show anyone actually there. In contrast, Giner Bueno’s Valencian beach scenes show groups of workers and laypeople on the beach, carrying out their daily duties.
