The Grand Opening exhibition, New Roots: A Celebration of New Beginnings, is a group show that highlights the works of new artists to R Alexander as well as alludes to the sculpture and botanical garden that is “growing,” both in terms of its natural development as well as in the number of displays. Located on a 2.5 acre lot, the gardens at R Alexander are a sight to see.
Displaying over 100 varieties of hostas, dozens of rare and unique conifers, and a collection of Japanese maples and exotic ferns, R. Alexander imagines its new location as not only an art gallery, but a destination. Some of the new artists at the gallery include regional artists Alice Williams, Noah Desmond, Brad Robertson, Pat Hobaugh, and Gail Foster as well as repertoire of international artists such as Alvar, Pietro Piccoli, and Jesus Navarro. As roots take hold of the soil, a foundation for something beautiful is established and R Alexander attests to this type of growth in terms of what they are trying to achieve locally and within the Atlanta art community.
